Share a giant “Barge Burger,” then kayak on the sound
My kids insisted that this one make the list. At Tugboat Annie’s in Olympia, the (infamous) Barge Burger consists of five of the bar and grill’s regular-size hamburger patties and is served on a Wagner’s European Bakery bun that measures about 10 inches in diameter. Historically, Tugboat Annie’s has been a staple for maritime travelers in and out of Budd Bay. Rent a kayak from the cashier and take the family on a self-guided tour of the sound, where you may see bald eagles, harbor seals and more.
