It’s been just over a year since the mammoth Seattle-based company, Amazon took over at Whole Foods. So far changes have been subtle, but possibly one of the best crossovers of the two brands has just been rolled out nationwide. As of June 27th, all Amazon Prime members will get 10% off sale items, and weekly discounts on best-selling items at Whole Foods and Whole Foods 365 locations nationwide.

The discount on sale items applies to hundreds of products (alcohol excluded). Right now, that means price cuts on some great summer produce like organic red cherries, organic yellow peaches as well as on baby back pork ribs for the grill.

To take advantage of these discounts, Prime members will need to download the Whole Foods app and present the barcode at checkout or give the phone number that's associated with their membership. Shoppers watching the bottom line will want to make the extra effort to get the discount. These savings on groceries might just make your Prime membership seem like better value too.
