Back-to-School Cool: Mom-Approved Style Trends for Elementary School Boys

Published on: August 20, 2012

Style Points
Just like elementary girls, boys at this age will probably be pretty game to try anything. Color and stripes are huge for fall, so let him pick out items in a variety of patterns and shades. Long-sleeved striped polos are great for in-between weather, and can be easily layered under a coat or bright vest. Easily interchangeable items, like shirts and caps, can be bought in trendy colors like Kelly green and bright orange. Keep the building blocks of his closet basic, like backpacks in gray; pants in denim, khaki or cord; and shoes in white or black. Neutrals always go the distance.
