First off, a couple of shows: we loved Beauty and the Beast at Village Theatre and The Wizard of Oz at SCT. Don't know the ticket situation at this point -- there's a special $10 matinee to "Oz" on Saturday, which might be sold out -- but get 'em if you can. Film fans can catch Mary Poppins at SIFF Cinema on Saturday, The Princess Bride at Central Cinema (come hungry - you can order dinner while you watch), and Santa vs. the Snowman at PacSci. For the night owls, there's a low-tide beach walk at Me-Kwa-Mooks park in West Seattle on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. If you've never been to one of the area's many low-tide beach walks, fall and winter are really perfect times to go -- intertidal critters seem to be more plentiful under cover of darkness. The Pike Place Market lights up on Saturday -- yeah, there's a tree, but there are also pig-reindeers and vegetables. Warm up at the Seattle Center's bonfire on Saturday.
