Rocking out at the Village Theatre

Fun afternoon yesterday at the Village Theatre in Issaquah. A group of 4-6 graders had spent a week learning songs, dances and lines in the Village Theatre's Kidstage program - and they put on a quite a show!

The theme was "Camp Rock" - and these kids rocked. They belted their hearts out and presented a spirited, energetic, entertaining musical. They even wrote parts of the production themselves (is that why Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had "cameos?").

OK, one of these kids was my granddaughter and that made the show even more special for me. Check out their summer schedule.

Next comes a week with "Broadway Bound," another Seattle area children's drama/musical program. We are SO fortunate to live in a theater-centric community. Lots of terrific opportunities for young performers.
