Dune Peninsula, Tacoma
The newer section of Tacoma’s grand Point Defiance Park, called Dune Peninsula, offers a truly one-of-a-kind play experience. Dune Peninsula’s series of hillside slides recall the shiny and fast metal slides of bygone days. And there are six in a row. Kids will delight in this life-size game, and parents will later delight in the easy bedtime (let’s hope) brought about by the epic workout required to do the slides over and over again. If you can tear your crew away from the slides, there are literally days and days’ worth of fun things to do at Point Defiance. We especially love revamped Owen Beach and the newer preschool-focused nature play garden inside beloved Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.
Location: 5361 Yacht Club Rd. in Tacoma. There is parking available in a free lot.
