Klahanie School stewards garden classroom inside and outside location on beautiful Vashon Island since 2009.  Klahanie School is nonprofit, independent Year Round AMS Montessori Antibias Multiage school for students ages 2.5yrs-Kindergarten, with teen internship. Klahanie School is dedicated to providing accessible, ongoing education support for the island’s youngest marginalized learners with daily practices of inclusion and equity social justice opportunities inside and outside.  Klahanie School is on the journey towards accreditation by the American Montessori Society, with a focus on expanding educational community collaborations.  During the summer, the school opens its garden doors to island marginalized students, offering ongoing Montessori education support to island district preschool students during summer months. Klahanie School's commitment to social responsibility through its teen intern program, where interns earn community service school credit for mentoring and classroom support is paramount and seeing wonderful community outcome.  Klahanie School intention is to instill a student's love of life and resiliency necessary to explore our ever-changing world.
