Our Program
We offer mixed age classes for children ages two to five, with our two teachers using a unique co-teaching model. Our co-teaching model enables our two teachers to better support the children in the classroom. We also maintain a low child to adult ratio in our classes to create an engaging, positive environment for children and their families. As a cooperative preschool, our parents work in the classroom on a regular basis and manage the overall operations of the school. Class size is between 16 and 18 students.
We believe there are many benefits of participating in our co-op:
•Our curriculum focuses on building strong social and emotional intelligence in a multi-age classroom with a low child to grown-up ratio to support an engaging, positive environment for children and their families.
•We believe that children are exactly where they need to be and doing exactly what they need to be doing in this moment in time, and that they can accomplish what they are capable of doing, alone and with others. Our work begins with the unconditional acceptance of our children exactly where they are.
•We support and encourage children to play, make believe, practice the hard work of solving problems, identify and regulate their own emotions, and practice caring for and including peers.
• Our families are part of a wonderful, supportive community invested in and committed to the success of each child as well as the overall success of the organization. The RVCP Community is a wonderful way to foster friendships and build a stronger sense of community.
