Ananda Mela – Joyful Festival of India is the largest festival in the Northwest showcasing the diversity of incredible India. Started in 2010, this year will mark the ninth anniversary of this event. It will be held on Aug. 9 and 10. It is a free outdoor festival held at the Redmond City Hall campus, drawing around 20,000 attendees over a glorious summer weekend.
This festival has gained a lot of popularity in the cultural scene of the Northwest. With a full galore of cultural dioramas, performance arts on stage, demonstrations of ancient traditions, Vedic lifestyle, delicious cuisine, Indian bazaar and much more, this event offers a unique, holistic experience to the audiences. This year Vedic Village at Ananda Mela offers ancient wisdom from Vedic tradition to take a holistic approach to body, mind and soul while protecting the delicate balance between these three dimensions of human evolution.
Ananda Mela aims to showcase Indian arts and culture with intricately crafted displays, entertainment on multiple stages, participatory activities and contests for everyone, informative and enlightening presentations, and other memorable experiences, including tasty food and irresistible shopping. Festival grounds open at noon. On the Ganga Stage and Yamuna Stage, you can witness and enjoy performances of a wide range of classical, folk, and popular dance and music traditions from different parts of India.
