Join the City of Issaquah and Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust in celebrating Earth Day alongside with the City's 26th Arbor Day. This is a day to celebrate the City's long term commitment to caring for their urban forests. Let's do this by joining together and continuing the work!
Volunteers are encouraged to carpool to this exciting event. Volunteers will park in the Tibbets Beach parking lot in Lake Sammamish State Park (remember to print your parking pass!), and follow Greenway event signs and leaders to the work site. We will be working at Sammamish Cove, a former dairy farm adjacent to Lake Sammamish State Park. It borders Tibbetts Creek, a salmon-bearing stream, to the Northeast. Boasting sweeping views of the Issaquah Alps, the area was once overwhelmed by invasive weeds. The Greenway Trust volunteers and local stewards have worked hard to remove these invasive weeds along the creek and planted hundreds of trees to re-establish healthy forests where habitat matters most. Join us for this celebration as we plant native trees and shrubs, remove invasive blackberry, and continue to expand a new connector trail to improve park access.
We are looking forward to spending this special day with you, thank you for signing up to volunteer. Remember, there is no experience necessary – all training will be done on site!

Age Restriction: Any participant under 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
What to Bring:
For safety, volunteers are required to wear:
- Long pants made of sturdy material
- Sturdy, close-toed shoes
- Gloves (provided)
In addition, we recommend that participants bring:
- Warm layers, especially during the fall, winter, and spring
- Rain gear
- Big sack lunch
- Long sleeved shirt
- At least one full water bottle
- Small daypack for lunch, extra layers, etc…
