Bike Challenge & Bike Safety Rodeo

Boys and girls ages 6-14 are invited to compete in the annual Maple Valley Parks & Rec's annual Bike Challenge at Lake Wilderness Park on Saturday, June 22, 2024.  Racers will compete for the fastest time in their age and gender group with awards given to the top three racers in each group.  Racers are encouraged to also participate in the Maple Valley Police Department's Bike Safety Rodeo and stick around afterwards for a chance to win raffle prizes!  The Bike Challenge and Bike Safety Rodeo are free to all participants.

Bike Challenge Details
  - The Bike Challenge is FREE to all racers ages 6-14
  - Racer age determined as of June 1st of the current year
  - Racing age divisions are 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U
  - Racers younger than 7 years old may compete but will be combined with the 7U division
  - Boys and girls will compete in separate age and gender divisions
  - Helmets are required to race
  - Racers with training wheels can participate but cannot compete for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place honors
  - Bike Challenge check-in and warm-ups begin at 9:15am
  - ALL RACERS MUST CHECK-IN THE MORNING OF THE BIKE CHALLENGE TO RECEIVE THEIR COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRT AND RACE NUMBER
  - Bike Challenge official race begins at 10:00am and must be completed by 11:30am
  - The Bike Challenge course changes each year and varies from 0.75-1.25 miles in length
