Civil Rights Legacy Tour Presents: “Where Blooming Flowers Meet the Sky”

Calendar/Event Details

Civil Rights Legacy Tour
For more than a decade, Tacoma Arts Live has hosted the Civil Rights Legacy Tour, which, according to their website, honors the legacy of civil rights leaders, encourages civic responsibility among young learners and has reached over 150,000 youth at schools—throughout Pierce, King, South Kitsap and Thurston Counties. Study guides for K–12 students accompany each play.

What is the Production About?
This year’s NEW show follows the story of Zhuli, a young artist writing a new book of poetry. On her artistic journey she is visited by three prominent ancestors from the 1960s civil rights era. Each one gives her a piece of wisdom from their experience, helping her to find her voice.
