Join the Aurelia Institute in the Museum’s Alaska Airlines Aerospace Education Center for an interactive, family workshop on designing a home in zero gravity.
How do we design habitats, furniture, and other objects for zero-g? What might “home” look like in low Earth orbit? Aurelia Institute’s Sana Sharma and the Museum’s Daniela Robles explore what it’s currently like to live in space and how we might design and build environments that make space feel like “home,” such as the TESSERAE pavilion, now on display as part of the Museum’s Home Beyond Earth exhibition.
Participants will design and build their own habitats and interiors, either to take home with them or to add to the Museum’s community space habitat.
All ages are welcome to participate. Family Workshops are designed to encourage families of all kinds to work and learn together while exploring the worlds of aviation and space.
This event occurs during December's Free First Thursday evening when admission is FREE from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
