Eastside Symphony Spring Concert 2022

Calendar/Event Details

Have kids that play in the school or youth orchestras? Bring them to this friendly classical music concert! It's rare to see harp soloists, and we're featuring harpist Carolyn Tanksley in a charming performance of Debussy's Danses for harp and string orchestra on this lucky night.

Piano students won't be left out either! Local pianist John Lee will be performing Ambrosia fantasy for piano, an original 21st-century piece by local composer Jeffrey Taylor.

Families familiar with classic orchestral performances will surely enjoy the last half of the program devoted to the rich melody of the New World Symphony. This piece was written by the Czech composer Antonio Dvorak after he had experienced living in America, deeply inspired by Native American and African American music. This symphony was so popular that Neil Armstrong played a recording of it on the moon.
