'Fruitvale Station' Film Screening and Discussion

Part of the library's Celebration of Ryan Coogler film series during Black History Month.

Ryan Coogler is one of the defining film makers in Hollywood today. As a Black writer and director Coogler always infuses his work with his culture and history, because of that authentic story telling he has shown us worlds that have never before graced the silver screen!

"Fruitvale Station" was Coogler's first feature film and the beginning of his artistic partnership with Micheal B. Jordan. This deeply moving indie movie was what convinced Sylvester Stallone that Coogler could be trusted to re-launch the "Rocky" series with "Creed".
