Green Seattle Day is our biggest party of the year, and we want you there! Join hundreds of volunteers planting thousands of plants in parks throughout The Emerald City. All community members are welcome! The event runs from 9am-noon at Jefferson Community Park, and at 21 other parks across Seattle. No experience necessary. Tools, gloves, plants, coffee, snacks, and instruction provided.
This year’s main meeting location will be at Jefferson Community Center in Beacon Hill. Volunteers will be invited to the hubsite for the morning of the event, where we will have speakers, snacks and coffee to energize our volunteers! We will then be shuttling volunteers to 5 nearby parks from the hubsite which will include: Cheasty Greenspace, East Duwamish Greenbelt – Beacon Ave S, Genesee Park, Lewis Park and Maplewood Playfield. If you are interested in taking part of the hubsite’s morning activities, then please sign up for one of the parks mentioned above. There will be a warm and hearty FREE LUNCH provided by DayoSense Catering at the hubsite following the planting events at 12pm. Lunch is open to ALL volunteers from the other Green Seattle Day sites throughout the city.
We will also be hosting the first-ever “Hubsite Fair” at Jefferson Community Center. This fair will feature our community partners, and will give them an opportunity to connect with volunteers, and to share more about the work they are doing in Seattle. From swag to educational information, we are sure that there will be something for everyone to enjoy at the Hubsite Fair. So no matter where you live (but especially if you live, work, or play in Beacon Hill), come join us for tree planting, food, and fun!
