Infant and Early Childhood Trauma: Core Concepts and Tools to Build Resilience

Calendar/Event Details

NW Children's Fund will welcome to Seattle Chandra Ghosh Ippen, Ph.D., a leading expert in complex childhood trauma and its impact on very young children, as the speaker for its 2018 Forum.

Using metaphors, visual aids and rich case studies, Dr. Ghosh Ippen illustrates how everyone involved with the child – parents, caregivers, teachers, service providers, doctors, even police, legal advocates and others – must collaborate, using the best available science to support the recovery of the traumatized child. She provides practical interventions and concrete tools in trauma-informed care as pathways to healing and resilience

As a first-generation East Indian/Japanese American, Dr. Ghosh Ippen is committed to examining how culture affects perception and mental health systems.
