International Coastal Cleanup

Calendar/Event Details

Pitch in to clean up Seahurst Park and protect our wildlife from marine debris! All ages can join in the largest, global ocean cleanup event of the year.

Join us on Saturday, September 16th from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM for the largest worldwide volunteer effort to protect the ocean! This event is part of the Ocean Conservancy’s international campaign and the City of Burien sponsors local efforts at Seahurst Park. All ages can take part and add items to the Salmon Trash Sculpture next to our building. We’ll provide cleanup supplies, but you can bring your own gloves, bag or bucket. Please register and allow 10 minutes to get to our building after parking. You can also use the Clean Swell app to provide research data on your collection rather than paper tally sheets. Find out more below.

Event Note: We’re full for our event check back to see if someone cancels, OR come after noon on your own cleanup and just add your trash bag to the pile outside our building. Use the CleanSwell app and your data will still be counted! OR use it for a pickup on any other day and we’ll include the data in our local reporting to the City of Burien. Plus, you can still add to the Salmon Trash Sculpture. Leave bags in/near a trash can and participate whenever is best for you! THANKS FOR PITCHING IN!!!
