Jenny Lisk, Future Widow: Losing My Husband, Saving My Family, and Finding My Voice

Calendar/Event Details

November is Children's Grief Awareness Month and we’re pleased to welcome Jenny Lisk along with friends from Our Treehouse and Moms Don't Have Time to Grieve for this important event.

When her forty-three-year-old husband is diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer, Jenny Lisk is thrust into the role of caregiver. In Future Widow, she goes behind the scenes of her tumultuous and heartbreaking journey, and asks: Do I have what it takes to help my young family survive my husband’s terminal illness? Jenny draws on her personal and professional experience to provide a real-life guide for surviving and thriving while raising grieving children.

Jenny Lisk is an award-winning author and widowed mom who is dedicated to helping widowed parents increase their family's well-being. Her book, Future Widow, and her show, The Widowed Parent Podcast, bring much-needed resources to widowed parents, helping them feel less lost and alone.

Our TreeHouse serves as a loving, healing community for children, youth, and families to grieve. Through peer support groups, provision of school-based support, and referrals to other community resources, they strive to ensure that grief has a place.

Moms Don’t Have Time to Grieve is a curated compendium of resources for those who are grieving or have ill loved ones. The community was founded by podcaster, author, CEO, and mother of four Zibby Owens.
