Juneteenth commemorates the effective end of slavery in the United States and is a federally recognized holiday. The spirit of this event is to learn about, recognize and celebrate the rich history of African Americans and celebrate cultures across the African diaspora.

Juneteenth Community Art Project
What kinds of inspiration do we need to keep ourselves hopeful for our future? What is the center of your joy? Let’s paint our joy with local Artist and Muralist Perri Rhoden. Drop in and help paint artwork which will hang in the Children's Area of the Renton Library. There will be blank canvases for self-guided artists who want to paint their own designs and pre-sketched canvases for those who wish to paint a design by the artist.
All ages and artist abilities welcome, ages 10 and younger with adult.
Unbound Verse: A Journey Beyond Conventional Poetry with Author D’Mario D. Carte
Challenge your traditional notions of poetry and be inspire to explore new realms of creativity! Through a series of engaging exercises and discussions, break free from the constraints of traditional poetic forms, societal norms and experiment with organic unconventional techniques. Immerse in words and other art forms, such as music, visual art and discover new ways of expressing yourself poetically.
