Let's talk about Adoption, School, and Learning! with Arik Korman

Calendar/Event Details

Sun, Nov. 3 @ 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.

Adopted kids are 3x more likely than kids born to their families to have learning challenges - some research suggests that up to half of them have diagnosed “disabilities.” Join us for this first conversation in our 3 part educational series.

Working with Schools

What can you do to make sure your child is getting the support they need at school?

Arik Korman, AFFGS Dad and CEO of League of Education Voters Foundation, starts off our AFFGS Educational Series. He will address why adopted kids are more likely to need educational supports, offer LOTS of information about how parents can advocate and access those supports (and what to do when schools/staff aren't complying), and share his specific story about advocating for his son.

Childcare provided
