Local School Music Programs Fundraiser Concert

Calendar/Event Details

Each year, the Women’s University Club of Seattle Foundation supports struggling school music programs by providing over 40 grants of up to $500 each through Music Counts! Program.  Schools then use grant money for basic classroom needs such as sheet music, instrument repairs and accessories, educational materials, coaching, and purchase of instruments. Past grants have included the purchase of xylophones, ukuleles, canons, drums & percussion instruments in addition to the expected band and orchestra instruments.

“The joyful sound of young people making good music is incomparable, and making music is an integral part of every culture,” says Susan Norton, Chair of Music Counts! Top Hat Cabaret for the Women’s University Club of Seattle Foundation.

Three outstanding high school groups, each of which received a Music Counts! Grant, will be performing at the Women’s University Club for members and our community:

These performances are part of the entertainment and fundraising dinner at Cabaret, the annual fundraising event for Music Counts! scheduled for May 16th. For more information, please visit us online at https://www.womensuniversityclub.com/foundation
