The Massage In Schools Program (MISP), teaches social skills, consent and boundaries while decreasing stress and teaching healthy touch and active learning.
This nonprofit program is researched based and working in 35 countries to
lessen aggression (decrease bullying), increase empathy, decrease sibling
rivalry, increase attention span for children with ADD/ADHD as well as
helping those with Autism who are sensitive to touch. The best part is it
teaches children about consent and sets appropriate boundaries through
relaxation. Children also sleep better which means parents do too!
This workshop for parents/educators and caregivers will highlight some of the strategies taught in the MISA trainings. Participants will learn how to use story massage, and
touch and movement to calm children and increase learning through fun games
and activities. Strategies will be given to teach school subjects through games and fun activities.
