Mirror Stage Presents: Contexpo, A Multimodal Arts Experience

Calendar/Event Details

A new multimodal arts experience is coming to Seattle's Phinney Ridge neighborhood.

Mirror Stage's next Contexpo series will allow participants to take a deep dive into themes relevant to Seattle's increasingly diverse community. The events will include visual art, spoken word, special speakers and workshops.

The first weekend of events will focus on the themes of incarceration and redemption. On Friday, June 24th, the series will kick off with a gallery reception and open mic poetry slam hosted by legendary poet, Miz Floes.  The program continues on Saturday with a talk about the prison to school pipeline.

Future Contexpo events will focus on the themes of industrial meat production, PTSD, veterans’ issues, and income inequality.

Mirror Stage is a nonprofit theatre which is dedicated to using the art of storytelling to promote diversity and social justice issues. The nonprofit aims to educate, entertain, and get the entire community talking about some of the most important issues of our time.

These events are being held in partnership with the Phinney Neighborhood Association and will take place on the top floor of the Phinney Center Blue Building.

The events are free to the public.

You can learn more about how to participate in the Contexpo events on the Mirror Stage website at MirrorStage.org.
