Come learn about invasive mud snails with Padilla Bay's stewardship assistant, Angelica Lucchetto.
For nearly 100 years, the Japanese mud snail, Batillaria attramentaria has made a home in Padilla Bay. Its population has recently surged, and Padilla Bay scientists are trying to learn why. Angelica Lucchetto, Padilla Bay's stewardship assistant has spent countless hours monitoring this little invasive snail. She'll share our findings and lead a field excursion to the beach for some hands-on data collection. Dress to get a bit muddy, with good-fitting boots or snug shoes.
