Native American Heritage Day Storytime at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma

Calendar/Event Details

The Children’s Museum of Tacoma is very excited to partner with the Tahoma Indian Center and welcome Colette August for a very special story time on Friday, November 24, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. for Native American Heritage Day! Colette will be reading Fry Bread by Kevin Maillard, and afterward families are invited to participate in a fun coloring activity.

Colette is from Tla’amin First Nation in British Columbia, Canada and serves as the Executive Director at Tahoma Indian Center. With a background in human services and a passion for healing, she actively participates in community RE-building initiatives, and holistic wellness practices. Colette’s dedication to her role is evident through her pursuit of a master’s degree in tribal governance and her involvement in volunteer work. As a mother of five and a grandmother, she is motivated to create a safe and healthy community for her family. In her spare time, Colette enjoys roller skating, hiking and photography, and Muay Thai training.

As always, admission will be Pay As You Will, and no registration is required. We’d like to thank Tacoma Creates, whose support makes this event available for visitors at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma.
