No Flashlight Night Hike

Calendar/Event Details

See what's out in the woods after the sun goes down! Turn off your flashlights, let your eyes adjust and see part of Seward's beautiful wilderness you weren't expecting. We'll meet at the Playground and then head off into the heart of Seward. We're going to learn about night vision, what happens when you bite down on a Wintergreen Mint, bats, and, if we're lucky enough to get a clear sky, we'll learn to spot a few constellations and the stories behind them. We go rain or shine, so gear up! City Wild is always happy to help you obtain appropriate gear is doing so on your own would place an undue burden on family finances. Children younger than 13 must have a parent, guardian or older sibling accompany them! Please also be aware of your child's limits. Some snacks will be provided. We hope to see you there! Can't make it? No problem. We have a couple events a month. Just keep an eye out for the next one.

City Wild Seattle

Organizer of No Flash Light Night Hike

City Wild Seattle is an organization with a simple mission: to get kids outside appreciating Seattle's numerous green spaces and to do good. Portions of proceeds from every event go to reserving two spots for underpriveleged students who would be otherwise unable to participate: scholarships include transportation, supplies and free tuition. City Wild also sponsors clothing, food, supplies and mental health and addiction counseling for Seattle's struggling and homeless.
