Long before the stories of King Arthur, Camelot and the round table, there were other stories. Stories of a young man, named Arthur Pendragon, who traveled through Brittan, with a band of super powered knights, battling monsters. This play is a pre-Camelot adventure based on those older stories. This musical takes us on a grand odyssey, for Arthur and his mighty guild, as they journey to discover the sword known as Excalibur. On their quest, these "super heroes" meet many of the amazing and bizarre residents of the lands; including Spirits of the water, Guenevere and her Warrior Maidens, a mighty clan of Devine Boars, some not-so-giant Giants, Dragons, Cat Monsters, Dog Heads and the evil Le Fey sisters, out to claim the magic sword for themselves. An epic fantasy, full of larger than life characters, much like the super hero comics of our era ... The man with the Bronze Fist ... The Changeling who can alter her face at will ... The Twins with the power of fire and ice ... The unstoppable Juggernaut ... The Green Man with the power to control plant life ... The once-evil Questing Beast now a force for good, an eleventh century version of the Avengers, The X Men or the Justice League. So ... here's a new take on some ancient tales not so different from stories we still find at the local comic book store.
