Piano collab with Veronica Deraleau and Dr. Lark Powers from Pacific Lutheran University. They will be performing 'American Voices,' featuring songs by American composers from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

Veronica Deraleau a classically trained soprano, violinist, and dancer. She is a proud first-generation American of Latin-Asian descent, US Army veteran and spouse. He background as a musician and veteran has led her to perform across the country and abroad, at cultural and political events for diverse audiences, including a President and Pope. New to the Pacific Northwest, Veronica’s 2023-24 season brings debuts with Puget Sound Concert Opera, Sacred Heart Bellevue, Sno-King Chorale, additional performances with Vashon Opera, Olympia Opera Theatre, Tacoma Arts Walk, Pacific Lutheran University’s Opera Workshop, and recitals presented by Lakewold Gardens and the Kingston Village Green Foundation.https://www.veronicaderaleau.com/

An active pianist and teacher, Dr. Powers was on the faculty of the preparatory division of the Peabody Institute as well as the University of Colorado’s continuing education program. In fall 2013, she was appointed to the faculty of East Central University as assistant professor of piano and music theory, and in addition has been busy working as an adjudicator in regional competitions and as a presenter and lecturer in conferences, including the recent International Festival of Spanish Keyboard Music held in Mojacar, Spain. She holds three master’s degrees –in piano, harpsichord and theory pedagogy– and a graduate performance diploma in piano, all from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She was awarded her doctorate from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
