Read, plant, and paint at Beacon Food Forest Children's Garden

Calendar/Event Details

Sun, Jan. 26 @ 12:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.

Join Sunflower Seedlings Preschool at our children's garden for a free, family-friendly event at Beacon Food Forest where children can read a story, plant radishes, and create beautiful watercolor paintings inspired by nature! This hands-on gathering is designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for the environment—perfect for families interested in outdoor learning and nature-based play.

Read: We’ll be reading The Ugly Vegetables by Grace Lin, a heartwarming story about community, gardening, and celebrating diversity in nature.

Plant: Get your hands in the soil! Kids will be the first to plant in our new children's garden!

Watercolor Painting: Unleash creativity with watercolor art inspired by nature! Using leaves, flowers, and other natural elements, children will explore different painting techniques to create their own masterpieces.

Enjoy a Healthy Snack! We’ll be serving hummus with bell peppers and a warm cup of mint tea—a cozy treat for parents and kids alike as we enjoy the beauty of the garden together.

We hope you will join us!
