Solstice Luminary Walk

Calendar/Event Details

Wintertide Lights began in 2020 as a response to the pandemic, embodying our mission to be inspirational, educational, and accessible. Every year, we strive to exceed expectations, continually adapting to the changing landscape of nature. This year's event will include a gazebo luminary installation crafted by artist Cindy Morris, a unique addition.

As a special treat, a Solstice Luminary Walk will take place on Thursday, December 21st, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with complimentary luminary bags and story time in the gazebo, plus our very own Peggy Kurz will lead us in song as we walk. Peggy taught voice at Everett Community College and Trinity Lutheran College. She earned her master’s degree in voice from PLU and has played a variety of roles in musical theater.

Engage your creative side by participating in Luminary Classes on two Saturdays, December 9th and 16th, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM in the Arboretum Classroom. Instructors from Imagine Children's Museum will guide you in crafting your own luminary. Special thanks to Skagit Valley Watershed Council for their experienced help and for sharing materials with us for this event.

Wintertide Lights has been made possible through the generous support of the City of Everett, Snohomish County, Sunnyside Nursery and private donations, all contributing to the enthusiasm that fuels this remarkable event.
