St. Paddle's Day

Celebrate the beginning of the spring paddling season on the shores of Hood Canal; Washington’s only true fjord. Join us for races, clinics, paddling gear swap and demonstrations.

long course: (approximately 6 miles)
cross open water and could face strong winds and current in both directions of the crossing

short course: (approximately 3 miles)
stay along one shoreline and be a round trip route (down and back), possibly facing wind and current in both directions.

kids paddle course: (approx. ¼ mile)
circular route around the T dock at Alderbrook, starting on one side of the leg and paddling around the top of the T, returning to the other side of the leg. It is fairly protected and close to the dock at all times, but current and wind can affect paddlers.

Winners of each class will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize: An overnight stay and dining credit at Alderbrook!

Schedule:

8:30AM: registration & setup
10AM: mandatory safety meeting
10:30AM: kids paddle
11:15AM: long course start
11:30AM: short course start
2PM: awards
10:30AM-1:30PM: swap, trade, sell your used or outgrown gear
