It's difficult to get out of the house and do anything active with your little one on these dark, rainy days. So a local mom took charge and called a local skating rink to see if they would be interested in piloting a roller skating stroller hour for moms and babies. The owner agreed and would like to host a trial stroller skate!
FAQs:
Q: So let me get this straight, am I roller skating with a stroller?
A: YES! You will be wearing skates and your kiddo will be in the stroller, on the skating rink. You will be going around and around the skating rink with other mamas.
Q: Won't we look ridiculous?
A: Absolutely yes. Can you imagine 20 mamas skating around with their strollers on the skating rink? But what else are you planning on doing during a rainy Seattle day?
Q: Can I invite other mamas I know?
A: Yes, yes, and more yes. The more the merrier. Feel free to pass on the information to your PEPs groups, other mama circles, etc.
Q: Why so late in the day?
A: Since this a pilot, that was the timeframe the owner suggested given they are not in operation during the morning/noon timeframe. He has a few staff members available starting 4pm to allow us to come in for an hour. If this proves successful, I am sure we can work with the owner to open up earlier for us and our kiddos.
