Folklore says that quilts with certain patterns were used as signs to help slaves navigate the Underground Railroad. Tumbling Blocks may signify that it’s time to gather your belongings, while the Log Cabin would mean that you’ve reached a safe house.
Help us celebrate Black History Month and the folklore of the Freedom Quilts.
