Trailhead Direct is provided by King County Metro, in partnership with King County Parks and SDOT and sponsored by Amazon. This project seeks to ease vehicle congestion, reduce safety hazards and expand access to hiking destinations along I-90. The Trailhead Direct service runs on designated weekends and holidays.
Trailhead Direct is a seasonal service that operates on weekends and designated holidays, which are Memorial Day (Monday, May 27), Independence Day (Thursday, July 4), and Labor Day (Monday, September 2).
Routes:
Trailheads: Mount Si, Mount Teneriffe, Little Si
Start point: Bus stop at Broadway and East Denny Way across from Sound Transit’s Capitol Hill Link light rail Station.
End point: Bus stop at East John Street and Broadway East, adjacent to Sound Transit’s Capitol Hill Link light rail station.
Additional stops on Fourth Avenue in downtown Seattle near the University Street Link light rail station and the North Bend Park-and-Ride. Please note that the Eastgate Park and Ride stop in Bellevue will be closed for the 2024 Trailhead Direct season.
Trailheads: Margaret’s Way, Chirico Trail-Poo Poo Point, Squak Mountain, the High School Trail, and East Sunset Way
Start and end point: Mount Baker Transit Center Bay 2 across the street from Sound Transit’s Mount Baker Link light rail station on Rainier Avenue South.
Additional stop at Issaquah Transit Center. Please note that the Eastgate Park and Ride stop in Bellevue will be closed for the 2024 Trailhead Direct season.
