Eastside CHADD: Wednesday, September 11th, 7 to 8:30 p.m.: "GETTING BACK to BASICS: NAVIGATING the SPECIAL EDUCATION PROCESS"
This is a FREE virtual meeting on Wednesday, September 11th from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Pacific Time.
Register now for our first fall meeting with Scott Raub of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Please join Scott Raub for a virtual presentation which covers how to request special education services and what to expect throughout the process. Discussion topics will include how to request services, participate in the evaluation and IEP meetings, and learn strategies for overcoming barriers throughout the process.
Scott will explain early intervention services (age 3-5) as well as transition services (age 16) to prepare for post high school graduation at age 18 or age 21 if special education service continues until age 21.
About our speaker:
Scott Raub serves as the OSPI Assistant Director for Special Education Policy and Community Engagement. He has worked with families and school districts for over ten years at OSPI and currently has two students in Washington public schools.
