Virtual: Temper Tantrums, Anger Mountain and the Roller Coaster of Big Emotions

Calendar/Event Details

What will help you manage your child’s temper tantrums?

Do time-outs work? Why or why not?

Does saying: "Sit on this step!" “Go to your room!” “Calm down!" help?

What can you do to get your child to stop being so angry?

This free parenting talk will explain what happens when your child has big emotions. Parents can have big emotions, too. Big emotions happen in families.

What will help de-escalate these big emotions?

What is Anger Mountain? What insight does it give to understanding the roller coaster of emotions?

This talk will present tools and phrases that will help with those big emotions.

You will learn why toddlers and preschoolers have so many temper tantrums.

This will be a 30-minute talk with Q&A available afterward. This is a LIVE program; it is not recorded.

The registration fee is FREE.

We will meet on Zoom. This is a convenient way to meet. There is no commute, and you may not need a baby-sitter.

The talk will be facilitated by Jennifer Watanabe, a Child Behavior Consultant and Parent Coach who helps parents help their children. She is retired from Bellevue College in Washington state after 24 years of teaching hundreds of parents how to help their young children. She teaches/coaches in a respectful, non-judgmental, and encouraging way.
