Join us for a morning of inspiration with teaching and parenting expert Denise Peeler as she looks at the importance of connecting with your child through practical communication and discipline strategies. Whether you are a parent with a young child or preparing to launch your teenager, Denise will give you tools to help develop strong connections with your child in each season of his/her life.
Intended audience: parents with children in preschool through grade 12.
Denise Peeler began her teaching career at The Bear Creek School in 1993. She encourages her students to learn about themselves and their world by discovering God's beauty in people, cultures, and languages. She desires to make language come alive through meaningful, creative, and experiential learning. Prior to teaching language, she taught grades 2, 4, and 6 for almost twenty years. Denise also has a 15-year career as a professional presenter, speaking at retreats and seminars around Washington state.
Mrs. Peeler is inspired by Mother Teresa's compassion, Billy Graham's conviction, and Harriet Tubman's courage. She enjoys reading, bird watching, playing tennis, taking photos, biking, hiking, gardening, and walking in the woods by her house. She holds a B.A. Interdisciplinary Child Development from Western Washington University and an M.Ed. Literacy Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University.
Tools for Success is a seminar series at which Bear Creek faculty will speak on a variety of parenting and academic topics. These sessions focus on subjects ranging from preschool to college planning. You are invited to attend any or all events, and we encourage you to invite a friend from outside the Bear Creek community.
