In this musical, a baker and his wife wish to have a child, but a terrible curse plagues them. They embark a journey in search of magical ingredients to break their curse: a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper as pure as gold. Along the way, they run into Little Red Riding Hood on her way to her grandmother’s house, Cinderella arriving home from the King’s festival, and Jack, who has just grown a giant beanstalk! These quirky fairy-tale characters learn the meaning of empathy and perseverance as they pursue their hopes and dreams in a world that seems to have the odds stacked against them.
Music by the brilliant Stephen Sondheim will transport you into the world of these classic Brothers Grimm fairytales. Into the Woods, Jr. showcases our talented KIDSTAGE cast as these classic characters searching for a “happily ever after.”
