8. Sm’Apples U-Pick Orchard, Ferndale
We just happened upon Sm’Apples, a family-run U-pick orchard in Ferndale, and it looks like a good one! U-pick typically opens in mid-August with the first available varieties being the Red Free and Akane — that’s pronounced “uh-KAHN-ee.” Next up will be family favorites Honeycrisp and Gala.
