McLane Creek Trail
Hunt for newts, mallards and chickadees
The McLane Creek Trail in Olympia is a 1.5-mile hike that’s a local fave. Featuring an abundance of wildlife, the path is perfect for slowing down to take in nature. Catch and release newts, look for families of ducks and hunt for local bird species. Interpretive signs are placed along the trail, which backs up to Capitol State Forest. The area is filled with berries, birds and beauty. (Note: This trail is not ADA-accessible, and a Discover Pass is required to park.)
