2018 Golden Teddy Awards — Camps + Classes
After-School Enrichment
Winner: Creative Dance Center
Not a year goes by that Seattle’s Creative Dance Center isn’t among your favorites in the Golden Teddy Awards. Classes feature the studio’s signature BrainDance, which you love for how it connects kids’ brains and bodies in remarkable ways. CDC offers a plethora of classes, from parent and tot to early childhood to teens and adults. It’s clear that voters agree with this CDC sentiment: “We like to think of our classes as ‘serious fun.’”
Finalists
Seattle’s Piano Playground is a piano studio with a unique focus on exploration, creativity and self-expression. According to a parent testimonial on Piano Playground’s website, their daughter “is constantly learning new skills, and she is also excited to practice every day!” Now that’s music to a parent’s ears.
Every parent wants their child to have a leg up in today’s competitive world, and our voters clearly like the edge that Bellevue’s Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) gives their children. RSM provides after-school math enrichment, tutoring and test prep for kids in kindergarten through high school.
Voters love that Seattle ReCreative teaches art mostly with reused materials. Class participants have an easy time unleashing their creativity in a classroom tucked into a shop space that’s filled with craft items that have been kept out of landfills.
Parents know Sponge instructors are doing an outstanding job teaching their kids how to speak foreign languages. At three locations in the Greater Seattle area, your kiddos are learning Spanish, Chinese, French, Japanese, German and Hindi.
