Handy Drop-In Child-Care Spot
Winner: Roo’s World of Discovery
It’s no secret: Parents love using Roo’s World of Discovery upstairs coworking space while their children play downstairs in a supervised Montessori-inspired environment. This coworking option is available during weekday hours for children ages newborn to 5 years old. Roo’s is also well-known for welcoming children with developmental delays and creating an inclusive atmosphere with stellar, caring staff members.
Finalists
A perennial Golden Teddy favorite, Penny Pumpernickel Pants Playcare puts play first. Catering to children ages 2 and a half to 4 years old, Penny Pumpernickel is an in-home play space run by husband-and-wife team Ophelia and Chris de Serres just off State Route 99.
Although The Inc. opened its doors less than two years ago, it’s already a two-time Golden Teddy finalist. Voters love its modern approach to child care, which includes a drop-in preschool, a coworking space down the hall and a Cowork/Coplay Community Room for the very young.
Families rave about the range of options offered by The Nest. This Woodinville-based center has a preschool program for kids ages 2 and a half years old through pre-K, four hours of daily enrichment classes for kids ages 2 and a half to 6, and classes for kids as old as age 9 during school breaks.
Across the street from Alderwood Mall, Time4Kidz Playcare is not only convenient, it’s a fun place for drop-off, high-quality child care for toddlers up to age 10. Offerings include before- and after-school care, Saturday “kids’ night out,” and language and ballet classes.
