Have an Angelina Ballerina fan in the house? An enticing new dance class sashays into Renton (and Bellevue) in January. Angelina Ballerina Dance Academy classes will be offered by Evergreen City Ballet beginning early next year. Young fans of this spunky pink mouse will find familiar stories and music featuring Angelina and her friends.

For the uninitiated, Angelina Ballerina is the protagonist of a popular British children's book series (and TV series) -- “a remarkable mouseling who is armed with grace, determination and an unquenchable zest for fun.”

Evergreen City Ballet instructors will introduce pre-ballet creative movement to young dancers; age-appropriate lessons are also designed to encourage confidence, fitness, arts appreciation and teamwork. ECB is the only ballet school in the area to offer these themed classes.

Where and when: Classes start the first week in January. Classes for ages 3-4 last 45 minutes and are offered seven times per week in Renton and two times in Bellevue (at Adventure Kids Playcare). Classes for ages 5-6 run 60 minutes and are offered four different times per week, in Renton only.

Cost: $60-$70 per month, plus a $25 registration fee.

To enroll: Enrollment is ongoing. New students welcome any time as class space permits.

Contact: Call 425-228-6800 to check space availability (classes are filling up fast). Register online here.
