explore-music-200wHere’s a quick way to expose your kids (and yourself!) to the glories of classical music. Classical radio station KING FM (98.1) is now running a one-minute segment every day at 6 p.m. — titled Exploring Music — aimed at giving kids a whirlwind tour of some aspect of classical music. It’s brief, fun, and engaging, with awe-inspiring music threaded throughout. You can stream and listen to recent segments online.

Through this Friday, January 6, KING FM is also running a fun contest. The official mascot of Exploring Music is a penguin conductor and KING is inviting kids under the age of 12 to name it. The grand prize winner will receive four tickets to Seattle Symphony’s "Dancing with the Symphony," part of the Gilman Family Discover Music Series on January 28.

For an entry form and rules, go here. And entries have to be received by Friday, so if you love naming contests, hop to!
