Keep the kids reading this summer

It's summertime and some delectable books are out there there - at the library, the book store, on your Kindle...just waiting to be devoured by your son or daughter. There's no better time than a sun-drenched summer day (yes, we're still waiting...) to plant yourself and your child under a leafy tree and escape to another world, compliments of a plethora of talented children's book authors.

I list some terrific books - for elementary, middle school and high school kids - in the back of my book, Beyond Smart: Boosting Your Child's Social, Emotional and Academic Potential. I also discussed summer reading - and why it's important - on a KING TV segment awhile back. Take a look - and take some time to find some great reads for your kids.
