Dr. Liliana Lengua, director of the UW’s Center for Child and Family Well-Being, sits down with King 5 News to discuss the important topic of best parenting practices -- and the breakdowns that can occur. Lengua stresses that there are four Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills that parents can keep in mind for success: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

To learn more about Lengua's great ideas on DBT skills, be sure to check out our upcoming event, Life Skills Parenting, that will be held in UW's Kane Hall on March 17, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Lengua will be offering a lecture from 10:45 a.m.-noon on "Improving Everyday Moments with Young Children."
