Send 'em to school with head lice?

Published on: December 30, 2013

liceGah! News this morning that the American Academy of Pediatrics now sez kids with head lice should not be kept home from school. The reasons? "While inconvenient, head lice cause no medical harm and can be effectively treated," according to the AAP.

"Head lice are not a health hazard or a sign of poor hygiene and, in contrast to body lice, are not responsible for the spread of any disease. No healthy child should be excluded from or miss school because of head lice, and no-nit policies for return to school should be abandoned."

Ever had to get rid of a case of head lice? Honestly, I'd rather my kid miss a day then spread those suckas around the second grade. What do you think?
