It's time to march to the State Capitol to "Stop the Cuts, Keep the Promise."
College Promise Coalition Lobby Day takes place in Olympia, Monday, Feb. 21. Come to the Governor Hotel (621 S. Capitol Way) at 10 a.m. then head to the Capitol to chat with legislators about the cuts.
What cuts? We're talking about huge cuts to higher education in our state. Since 2008, our colleges and universities have been but 30%. Schools now have fewer course offerings, higher class sizes and a freeze on enrollment of Washington students. If the current legislative proposals go through, the cuts could grow to 50%.
Not good for our students, not good for our state.
