Kelly Ann Moore Hughes (Miss Kelly, the owner of Tangerine Tales) is
a storyteller, an artist, a children’s writer and an inspiring teacher, who has an amazing art studio in Ballard (Seattle, WA). She and her husband love their local community.

As long as she can remember, she always adored fairytales and drawing.  The stories that her Mom read to her since she was a little girl, inspired her to use her imagination. Her love for the tales and pretending helped develop her passion for the arts.

After graduating university, designing, traveling the world, teaching early education and the arts; in 2008 she married and moved from the east coast to the west coast. She and her husband settled in Seattle and adopted two cats.

Miss Kelly started face painting at the Ballard Farmer’s Market, outside a quaint toy shop. There she shared her love of art & storytelling to the children. It was then, sitting in that lil’ chair that Tangerine Tales took off. Seeing all the smiles made her mission clear. Tangerine Tales is to inspire kids to use their imaginations!

When she is not busy doing Tangerine Tales you will find her traveling to the Seattle Public School’s Pre-K Programs teaching with her favorite puppets, taking walks at Golden Gardens, feeding her neighborhood birdie friends and writing her next children’s book.
